Rockbot’s average song length is 3 min which is approximately 20 songs per hour. Rockbot has many controls in place to prevent song, and artist repetition, however, we recommend at least 50 hours (~1,000 songs) to get started.
For your reference, the industry average to reduce the feeling of repetition is a minimum of 100-120 hours of music or 2,000-2,400 songs in rotation. This number can vary a little based on the number of hours you are open and the diversity of your playlists.
To increase the songs in your music rotation, we recommend adding additional playlists (Music Icon > Your Stations > Add Playlist) to your station(s) and/or syncing up a Spotify/iTunes playlist.
Last but not least, make sure to check your Energy Filter (Music Icon > Music Settings > Energy Filter). The Energy Filter will help you further set the vibe in your venue. However, it will also reduce the number of playable tracks.
Example: You added the "Top Radio Hits" playlist with 138 songs and your Energy Filter is set to "Relaxed". This means the entire playlist of 138 will be reduced and you will only hear songs from the playlist identified as relaxed.
Recommendation: If you are happy with your current music mix and want to maximize your playable library, we recommend setting your Energy Filter at "Anything Goes".
