The Rockbot Player has the ability to play music from cache to prevent music from stopping when there is no outbound internet connection between your Rockbot Player and our server. During this time you are unable to communicate with your device and performing simple functions like skip or reboot will not change the outcome.
After every song that plays from cache, the Rockbot Player will automatically attempt to reconnect however you can troubleshoot your device with following the steps:
- Confirm activity lights on the ethernet cable that is connected to the Rockbot Player. If not, trace the ethernet cable to ensure it is plugged into the switch/modem and confirm that the switch/modem is turned on.
- Investigate other devices that are connected to the same switch/modem to ensure you are not having any network or outstanding internet related issues. If there have been any changes to your firewall, this can affect your player's performance. Make sure the necessary URLs have been whitelisted here or reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org for our system requirements.
- Perform a hard reboot of the Rockbot Player by disconnecting the power adapter and the ethernet cable. Wait 10 seconds, then reinsert the ethernet cable before inserting the power adapter back into the Rockbot Player.
If you are continuing to experience issues with your device playing from cache. Contact us and we will look into this further.
