Using the Rockbot Request App, customers can purchase credits to make requests for their favorite music to play. Learn more about credits here.
There are 2 ways for a customer to make a request: Song Picks or Shuffle Picks.
Song Picks
A Song Pick is similar to selecting a song on a jukebox. DJ Users can search for an album, artist, genre, or playlist and play a specific song of their choosing.
Shuffle Picks
A Shuffle Pick is like requesting certain music types. A DJ User can select an artist or playlist they want to hear and the Rockbot algorithms will choose a song within that guideline.
NOTE: DJ Users are given 2 free Shuffle Picks per day when they check into a participating Rockbot venue. 20 free Shuffle Picks are the most you can bank at a time.)
NOTE: If a DJ User makes a request and then needs to leave the venue before hearing their selection, they must check out of the location to be reimbursed for their credits. Upon checking out, all selected Song or Shuffle Picks will be removed from the Queue.
What is a Priority Pick?
For a few extra credits, you can choose a song as a Priority Pick and jump ahead of the other picks in the Queue!
Why can't I pick certain songs?
There are 2 reasons why a song may not be available:
- Licensing Restrictions: Due to music licensing guidelines, not all songs are available for request, even songs that may be available as background music.
- Venue Preference: The venue has not enabled that song or genre. If you tap the gray Play button, the venue will be informed of your request and may enable that song in the future.
Why can't I find a particular artist in the Library?
If you are unable to find the artist you are looking for, the venue has likely chosen not to offer the song, artist, or genre in its catalog. It’s also possible we may not have it in the Rockbot catalog quite yet, but be sure to check back!
What are Sponsored Plays?
Sponsored plays allow businesses to make interactions free for their customers on the Rockbot Request app. Sponsored Plays are free for DJ Users, and will be used before any purchased Shuffle or Song Picks.
