Rockbot's hardware is commercial grade which means it is designed to play a quality audio 24/7 for decades. It is intentionally simple to prevent complexity and the chance of breakdown.
Commercial amps output a constant Voltage at 70 Volts compared to an 8 Ohm output consumer receiver. The 70 Volt system converts to 8 Ohm at the speaker to accommodate longer speaker runs and eliminates the need for many home runs from the amplifier to the each speaker.
Additionally, 70 Volt systems are designed to be daisy chained like rungs on a ladder. They are typically mechanically based devices and work even if a remote is lost.
