Speaker Compatibility
The Rockbot Smart Amp is compatible with both High-Z and Low-Z speakers. The system automatically detects which type is connected, so no manual configuration is necessary.
Supported Loads
- 4Ω mode: 2 x 50 W
- 8Ω mode: 2 x 100 W
- 70V mode: 1 x 250 W
The Phoenix terminals accept wire gauges between 12-30 AWG. Ensure speaker wiring is properly stripped (0.25–0.30 inches) and securely fastened to avoid signal loss or overheating.
Maximum Speaker Count
The number of speakers that can be supported depends on:
- Speaker impedance (4Ω, 8Ω, or 70V)
- Wattage ratings per speaker
- Total load not exceeding amplifier specifications
Consult an A/V system designer for site-specific speaker count recommendations.
Network Requirements
A stable internet connection is required for reliable playback.
- Minimum bandwidth: 30 Kbps downstream
- Recommended bandwidth: 1 Mbps downstream or greater for optimal performance
The Smart Amp relies on access to specific ports and URLs to maintain connectivity with the Rockbot platform. Complete details are available in the Network Requirements Documentation.
Environments with enterprise-level firewalls, VPN tunneling, or static IP configurations may require IT involvement to configure.
