Rockbot supports 802.1x WiFi authentication using either a username and password or an EAP Certificate.
Note: These steps are not required for most users. Only configure EAP 802.1x if directed to do so by your IT team.
- Navigate to your player setup page at setup.rockbot.com
-
Click on “Start Wifi Player Setup” and follow the instructions on configuring your player hardware and cabling
- Click “Launch Setup Wizard” to restart the setup instructions if necessary
-
On the “Enter your Wifi Credentials” step, enter your Network Name (SSID) in the first field, leaving the “Password” field empty.
- If authenticating via EAP username and password, enter both your EAP Username and EAP Password in the appropriate fields
-
If authenticating via EAP certificate, paste the entire certificate in the “EAP Certificate” field, while leaving the EAP username and password fields empty.
- When pasting your certificate, be sure to include the “BEGIN CERTIFICATE” and “END CERTIFICATE” lines.
- Save and continue. You may now unplug the Ethernet cable from the player.
Troubleshooting Tips
If no audio or content plays after 20 minutes:
- Confirm the Player has power (look for a solid red or green light)
- Check that the Micro SD card is fully inserted
- Test audio using wired headphones or earbuds
- Confirm the amplifier or receiver is set to the correct input and volume is turned up
