Reauthorizing the Rockbot service in the Sonos app resolves most SONOS-related issues.
The easiest way to do this is from the Sonos app. Please also ensure all other streaming sources have been stopped, and then head to the Sonos app (these steps are using the latest Sonos update version):
- Go to the Account menu
- Select Content Services
- Under Connected Services, select Rockbot
- Choose Rockbot Venue and select Reauthorize Account
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add the service to your Sonos system
If that does not work, we recommend removing the Rockbot service and starting fresh. Follow the steps below to remove your Rockbot service on the Sonos app:
- Go to the Account menu
- Select Content Services
- Under Connected Services, select Rockbot
- Choose Remove all Rockbot accounts, and select Disconnect
- Force close the Sonos app and repeat the steps to add the Rockbot Player to your system
IMPORTANT: When you want to Start/Stop/Skip songs and control volume, use the Sonos app. If you wish to adjust playlists, etc., use the Rockbot Remote app or Dashboard. If you attempt to Start/Stop/Skip the music via the Rockbot Remote app or Dashboard, it will change the audio device to the Rockbot "Web" player rather than the Sonos player. This may require you to reauthorize the Rockbot service all over again.
Additional Information
- Rockbot recommends a separate Rockbot login/account for each location managed through Rockbot.
- Using the SONOS Groups feature may sometimes result in a poor playback experience.
- iOS 18 introduced a new app permission that needs to be enabled for the Sonos app to connect to your system. Go to the iOS device Settings app and then to Privacy > Local Network. Enable access for Sonos on this list to let the Sonos app connect.
