To follow along with this guide, sign in at dashboard.rockbot.com and open your venue's dashboard.
The Asset Wizard in Rockbot gives you an easy way to create and manage the content that plays on your screens. It’s built to give you more control, reduce the need for support, and help you explore all the types of signage you can use.
Uploading Assets
If you’re uploading files like images or videos you can choose one file or upload several at once. After selecting your file(s), you’ll enter the asset editor, where you can:
- Name your asset
- Set the content area (this can’t be changed later)
- Choose start and end dates for availability
- Add it to a campaign or create a new one
After a brief processing period, your assets will be ready to use in campaigns.
Creating Assets with the Asset Wizard
To create new content, open the Asset Wizard from either your Asset Library or the Campaign Details page. Click “Create New Assets” to begin. You’ll see a gallery of different asset types you can use, like images, videos, text, web pages, or even Instagram feeds. You can click on samples to preview what each type looks like before choosing.
After you pick the type of asset, click Continue. You’ll then be guided through a few steps to set up your asset. Some settings are unique to the type you chose (like web URL you desire to display or text content), while others are common for all assets, including:
- Asset Name
- Asset Duration
- Campaign Assignment
- Limit Availability (set dates when the asset can play, available in group accounts)
Once you’ve filled out your settings, click Save Asset. It may take a few moments for your new assets to process and show up in your library.
Live Previews
Every asset type includes a live preview so you can see exactly how your content will look on the screen. This makes it easy to check resolution and playback before saving.
Content Area
Each asset must be assigned to a Content Area (like full screen, sidebar, or portrait). This determines where it appears on the screen. Once chosen, this setting cannot be changed.
Limiting Asset Availability
In larger organizations, not every asset should run all the time. You can limit an asset to only show between certain dates. This feature is available in the Group version of the tools and works for all asset types.
Editing Assets
You can edit most settings at any time by clicking on the asset card in the Asset Library or Campaign Details. Some things, like Content Area or image/video quality, cannot be edited because they were processed when you first created the asset. If you need to change these, you’ll need to create a new asset.
After editing, click Save.
