If your Player says it is playing from the buffer on the Rockbot Dashboard, this often means that the Rockbot Player is having network connection problems.
Either it does not have enough bandwidth or is unable to begin streaming the next track in time for it to play. If you see your Player playing from the buffer multiple times in the same day, you may need to troubleshoot your network connection. Learn More.
What Is a "Buffer"?
Your Rockbot Player downloads music onto its SD card to play from in case the Player loses connection to Rockbot's servers. This ensures that minor network interruptions or slowdowns do not stop your music. If you lose internet connectivity, your Player will automatically switch over to the buffered songs.
The benefit is that you have music playing, even if your internet cuts out. However, when playing from the buffer, you will be unable to communicate with your Player or control the music via the Rockbot Remote app or Dashboard.
After every song that plays from the buffer, the Rockbot Player will automatically attempt to reconnect. Buffered content does not play indefinitely and may eventually go silent.
