Before starting the install and setup process, ensure you have:
- Amazon Signage Stick(s) and in-box accessories:
- Power cable
- Power adapter
- Signage Stick Remote
- Optional HDMI extender cable
- A TV or display with an available HDMI port
- An Amazon account
- A mobile device with Bluetooth enabled and internet access (phone or tablet)
- A secure wireless internet connection (Wi-Fi name and password)
- Access to your Rockbot Dashboard
Important Notes
- Open Wi-Fi networks are not supported during Stick setup. A password-protected network is required. If you must use an open Wi-Fi network, refer to the Amazon Signage FAQ: https://signage.amazon.com/support/faq
- Keep your Amazon login credentials and Wi-Fi password handy to avoid timing out during the setup.
- If you plan to use the Signage Stick Virtual Remote during Part 1 setup:
- Complete setup using the Amazon Signage Mobile App first
- Add the Signage Stick remote only after setup is finished, following Amazon’s remote-pairing instructions
Setup Instructions
If you have purchased your Signage Stick directly from Rockbot, skip to Part 2 below.
1. Power the Signage Stick
- Plug each Signage Stick into a wall power source using the included USB cable and power adapter.
- You may plug the Stick into a display now or power multiple Sticks at once (for example, via a power strip) and connect them to displays later
2. Download the Amazon Signage Mobile App
Install the app on your mobile device:
- iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/amazon-signage/id6670145459
- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.signage
Use a supported version of iOS or Android as required by the Amazon Signage app.
3. Open the Amazon Signage Mobile App

First-time setup:
- Log in using your Amazon account
- A company/organization will be created automatically

Additional Sticks:
- Log in using the same Amazon account previously used
4. Add New Signage Sticks
- Tap the “+” icon in the app
- The app will scan for nearby Signage Sticks within Bluetooth range that have not yet been set up
5. Configure Wi-Fi and CMS Settings

Ensure your mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network the Stick will use
- iOS: You may be prompted to switch your phone’s Wi-Fi network
- Android: Select the desired network from the list
- Enter Wi-Fi credentials
- When prompted to select a CMS Choose: Rockbot
The first Stick setup uses manual configuration. You’ll later have the option to save these settings as a reusable profile.
6. Install Updates and CMS

The Stick will automatically:
- Check for firmware (OTA) updates
- Download and install Rockbot
This process typically takes 5–10 minutes. If connected to a display, on-screen instructions will appear once installation is complete
7. Assign a Location

Choose one of the following:
- Assign the Stick to an existing location or create a new location
- Tap “Skip for now” (Stick will be labeled Unassigned)
8. Save Configuration Profile (Optional)
- If Wi-Fi and CMS settings were entered manually, you’ll be prompted to save them

Select Yes to:
- Name the profile
- Reuse it for future Stick setups
9. Go to Part 2 → Step 4
- Steps 1-3 were completed in Part 1
If not already connected, plug the Signage Stick into the desired screen. You may temporarily unplug the power during placement if needed.

Power on the Signage Stick
- Plug the Signage Stick into a wall outlet using the included USB cable and power adapter
- Power on your TV or display and select the correct HDMI input

Connect to WIFI
- The screen will show a No Network Connection screen. Using the Signage Stick remote, select WIFI SETUP
- Select your WIFI network and enter in your WIFI credentials

Record your Activation code
- The Signage Stick will automatically launch Rockbot on the connected screen and the screen will display the Rockbot activation code. Write down or keep this code visible – you’ll need it in the next step.

Activate Rockbot:
- Log in to your Rockbot Dashboard and go to rockbot.com/amazon

Enter the activation code from your screen.

Select the Zone you want to link to this Signage Stick.
Your Amazon Signage Stick is now successfully activated with Rockbot
Note: Your Signage Stick remote is primarily needed during initial set up or occasional WIFI changes. Once activated, we recommend labeling the remote and storing it in a location such as securing it behind the TV or placing it in a drawer so it’s easy to find if ever needed.
Can I Activate Multiple Amazon Signage Sticks at Once?
Using the Rockbot Remote App, multiple Amazon Signage Sticks can be activated in sequence, provided they are connected to the same WiFi network. Amazon provides activation guides and best practices for bulk setup (see Amazon Documentation).
How do I Re-Assign the Stick to a Different Zone?
You first need to unlink your Signage Stick from its current Zone here. Then, factory reset the Signage Stick here and go through the same pairing process used during initial setup (steps 1-3 above).
